Mason’s March 2020 Team by Team Player Power Rankings

Good Day Folks – in the midst of this chaos – know I am here for you. I may shit talk and say some fairly mean things to some of you in the chat. Heck, every now and then I may cross the line, and for that I apologize. I enjoy each of your involvement in the league, from the most active group chatters (Logan, Jarro, Mitchell), to those that bring in exterior content (Derek – Financials, Hanna – well timed burns), to those of you that are slightly involved when it fits in with your schedule (Ben, Jake, Caleb, Adam) to those of you that are just watching from the outside (Father Tim), to those of you who aren’t yet in the league and will reading this in league history annals. I appreciate all of you.

There were many different strategies last year, some worked great, some worked terribly, and some didn’t even have a strategy. With that being said – it left many people in an interesting roster construction heading into the 2020 season (Hopefully we can put a lime in this Corona by August time and start Football as expected).

I am going to look at each team’s roster and rank their top 8 players who I think they should keep. Note – this is not an overall team power ranking and the below order of teams is no indicator. This list also will not acknowledge draft pick assets nor will it make suggestions as to how many keepers one team should keep in light of the compensatory draft picks rule.

Last note – this list is gospel and any other opinions are wrong.

TO THE TEAMS!!!

Hanna Dohm – Oh, Honey

You won. I still don’t love your team more than mine. Maybe you got lucky, maybe I am a shitty analyst – who knows.

  1. Ezekiel Elliot
  2. Kenny Golladay
  3. Josh Jacobs
  4. Dak Prescott
  5. Miles Sanders
  6. Mark Andrews
  7. Hunter Henry
  8. Emmanuel Sanders

Benjamin Walbrown – Ben’s Team

And Ben made it to the Finals. A surprising showing and it goes to show that this year can be anyone’s year. Make it to the second round again this year, Ben, and prove it wasn’t an aberration.

  1. Deandre Hopkins
  2. Tyler Lockett
  3. Christian Kirk
  4. Terry McLaurin
  5. David Johnson
  6. Devante Parker
  7. David Johnson (hey, I still believe. Maybe).

8a. Robby Anderson

8b. Kyler Murray

Jake Matteson – The Basterds

Solid Roster. Not one to make a ton of in-season moves – we will see how this roster performs in 2020.

  1. Alvin Kamara
  2. Tyreek Hill
  3. Travis Kelce
  4. Austin Ekeler
  5. DJ Moore
  6. Austin Hooper
  7. Julian Edelman
  8. David Montgomery

Adam Zimmerman – Island Survivors

Adam made a lot of trades with me last year – I think he won most of them. Be careful peeps – he’s a sneaky one.

  1. Michael Thomas
  2. Keenan Allen
  3. Aaron Jones
  4. Cooper Kupp
  5. Michael Gallup
  6. Jarvis Landry
  7. Zach Ertz
  8. Josh Allen

Mitchell Dohm – Mitchell’s Lobos

A team that has little roster flexibility as he went with building a matchup proof roster. It goes to show that a solid roster with plus matchups is better than an all pro roster with bad matchups.

  1. Saquon Barkley
  2. Davlin Cook
  3. Devante Adams
  4. Mike Evans
  5. Le’Veon Bell
  6. Stefon Diggs
  7. Corey Davis
  8. Malcolm Brown

Jarrod Rouse – Jarro’s Landsharks

Another solid roster that is a perennial contender. Be on the lookout to see how the Cleveland backfield develops as this could bolster this roster a lot if one of them leaves and becomes a feature back somewhere.

  1. Christian McCaffrey
  2. Nick Chubb
  3. Chris Carson
  4. Kerryon Johnson
  5. Kareem Hunt
  6. Marvin Jones
  7. Will Fuller
  8. Deshaun Watson

Mason Smith – Mason’s Mistress

A disappointing first round exit coming off of a Title run – the Mistresses hope to bounce back in 2020 with the most aggressive GM in the league looking to make some roster moves.

  1. Amari Cooper
  2. Chris Godwin
  3. George Kittle
  4. James Conner
  5. Todd Gurley
  6. AJ Green
  7. Phillip Lindsay

8a. DJ Chark

8b. Robert Woods

8c. Darren Waller

Tim Dohm – Hooked on a Theilen

After last year might be time for a new team name. regardless, Tim, the Patriarch of the league, has a roster mixed with old people and young players – not many middle veterans. In my opinion his team underperformed last year and with some good management could surprise some folks in 2020.

  1. Melvin Gordon
  2. Lamar Jackson
  3. TY Hilton
  4. Adam Thielen
  5. Leonard Fournette
  6. Deebo Samuel
  7. DK Metcalf
  8. Curtis Samuel

Caleb Reyes – Uncle Sammy’s Elite

One questionable move last year may have sent this team into a Jacksonville Jaguars comparison where stripping it down and pulling a Sam Hinkie might be the only option.

  1. Allen Robinson II
  2. Mark Ingram II
  3. Courtland Sutton
  4. Devin Singletary
  5. Calvin Ridley
  6. Courtland Sutton
  7. Jameis Winston
  8. OJ Howard

Derek Bornemann – Derek’s BDE

A roster that will hope to be this year’s Ben or Hanna. Time will tell if Derek can catch Lightning in a bottle. After looking at his roster though – I am not sure.

  1. Derrick Henry
  2. Joe Mixon
  3. Tyler Boyd
  4. Marquise Brown
  5. Ronald Jones II
  6. Derrius Guice
  7. Gardner Minshew?
  8. Joey Slye? It is bad folks.

Logan DeVega – Logan’s Legion

Another team that is hoping to be Ben or Hanna in 2020. A team that has trusted the process and its fans are beginning to wonder if this is finally the year that the process takes off? With 2 picks inside the top 3 who knows what will come of this team in the future.

  1. Julio Jones
  2. Marlon Mack
  3. JuJu Smith-Schuster
  4. Mike Williams
  5. Sterling Shepard
  6. Raheem Mostert
  7. Preston Williams
  8. Antonio Brown

The Patrick Mahomes

Who knows where Patty will take this team. What guidance will be given, who will be drafted to help jump start. All it takes is one herculean effort in the draft order contest to get that first overall pick and who knows where this team can wind up in 2020 with a top 3 pick, Patty and OBJ (if he bounces back).

  1. Odell Beckham Jr.
  2. Patrick Mahomes
  3. AJ Brown
  4. Evan Engram
  5. John Ross III
  6. Lamar Miller
  7. Jordan Howard
  8. Diontae Johnson

Much love to all of you.
